  Means of infection
 

Trivial.88.D follows the infection routine below:

  • It searches for the executable files with a COM extension.
  • It overwrites every infected file by adding its code to the beginning of them (so that the virus can not be eliminated). In order to eliminate the virus, the infected file must be deleted.
  • When an infected file with a COM extension is run, the virus tries to infect other executable files with this extension.

Trivial.88.D does not use any specific means to spread. It can use any of the means normally used by viruses: floppy disks, CD-ROMs, e-mail messages with infected attachments, Internet downloads, FTP, etc.
