  Brief Description
 

Meve is a dangerous worm, as it deletes several lines from the SYSTEM.INI file, preventing certain applications (programs, drivers, etc.) from working correctly.

Meve also opens several ports, which could allow a hacker to gain remote access to the computer.

Meve spreads via e-mail in a message that always includes an attached file called HOTMAILPASS.EXE. When it has infected a computer, the worm sends itself out to all the contacts in the instant messaging program MSN Messenger.
