Elkern.A is a virus that reaches computers inside a dangerous worm called Klez. It spreads via e-mail and searches for executable files in PE format to infect and delete.

It is very easy to become infected by this virus, as it is automatically activated when the message is viewed through Outlook’s Preview Pane.

Elkern.A infects computers with a variable subject each time. For this reason it is both difficult to identify and easy to catch this strain of virus.

A computer infected by Elkern.A will have no visible signs of the virus presence.
