First, you should establish some basic rules to be followed by all users
(safe practices) and draw up the corresponding training plan.
Safe practices define how to act in certain, potentially dangerous, situations. For example:
- If you receive unsolicited files or from an unknown source,
chats or newsgroups for example do not open them no matter how enticing they might seem,
they could contain a virus.
- Scan all new e-mail messages received before opening them, even if you know the sender.
- Don't download from unsafe or dubious websites and when you do download from the Internet,
make sure the site is backed by a respected organization, publisher or antivirus developer.
- Be on the lookout for suspicious activity in your computer
(such as increased file size, unusual Windows messages, mail from unknown senders,
or in foreign languages etc.).
